Puppies are here!

Zoe free whelped 7 puppies (5 blue bitches, 2 black males) today. We had a few issues with some of the puppies and had three D.O.A. blue bitches (all perfectly marked, full white collars and blaze, with a tiny blue dot on the top of their head in the blaze, yes all of them!) due to placenta issues. Surviving are four healthy pups: one half mask blue girl, a blue faced girl, a mismark black dog and a black pup with nice blaze (more like a lightning bolt).

I'm exhausted. More about the whelp tomorrow. Puppies sure are cute but I don't know about this whelping stuff.....

Well done, Zoe!! And a special welcome to the little black and white mismark, you're in a class by yourself. I can't wait to see pictures!

Whelping puppies is not for the faint of heart. I hope the four survivors grow up strong, healthy, and beautiful.

Breeding dogs is a labor of love and so many things can go wrong. So thankful that Zoe and the remaining are fine.

I am learning how difficult dog breeding is -- Wow! ---. Sorry about the losses and best wishes for the little ones and Zoe and you.

Sorry to hear about the problems you experienced with your first(?) whelping. Just good to hear that Zoe is okay and the survivors are thriving. Imagine they will be nice and plump in not time at all and causing mischief in the doggy ranks.

I have lost a puppy with each of my litters, but still feel it is well worth the effort. I am glad to hear that Zoe and the crew are doing well. Hope the fun now begins for you. :)

At least 4 won't drive you totally batty for a first litter. Love the blue faced girl's markings. Good luck!
