Fleece giveaway!

So any of you readers interested in getting a fleece from me to spin/knit into something? I'm looking to broaden my clientele and word of mouth is great! I'd be willing to send you a raw fleece, or roving (once it is processed) for you to play with and make something. you are able to keep whatever you make, but I would like photos of the finished product, the kind of yarn it was used, how you liked the wool, etc.

Any takers?

Add me to the list. I loved having sheep, but the whole shearing part . . . as I have gotten older not so much.

Preferably roving rather than raw wool.

Cost and shipping?

Send me some roving about 4-5 ounces once you get it processed and I will spin and knit it into a hat for you if you don't have any other volunteers. If you want a scarf I will need about 8 oz. My skills are pretty novice though, as long as that doesn't bother you. Just make sure to let me know what type of hat style you like best.

Since we were already talking fleece, I had just e-mailed you about that when I saw this. Is there any reason you posted this on your Corgi blog?

I have spun dog before - a Golden Retriever mix and my late Sheltie. Corgis have thick coats, but it a bit to short to spin! ha-ha

Count me in, of course. I'm also still willing to do a trade of a custom spindle, or fiber. Word of mouth for both of us! :)

Personally I'm fine with raw, as I love the smell of sheep, and processing, but I'm not picky *G*

Hey Garrett, Deb W (who I may get to meet when I'm in KY next month - whee!) told me about this. I'd love a sample of "blue" katmoget to spin, since I have yet to get my hands on a poll-carrying kat to buy. If it's a small quantity I am willing to try raw, but with homeschooling and all the rest my "fiber playtime" is pretty limited, so roving works far better for me.

I probably don't count :P but wanted to say that this was an awesome idea! :)

Wow, that would be really cool! My daughter and I are just getting into the fiber stuff--she and I are both enjoying learning how to dye and felt.

PS Give Zoe an extra (gentle :oP) tummy rub from me. Wish you had been able to bring her to Jefferson so I could have met her! Or any of your dogs, really...
